EUGENE MARATHON

Well, I did it! Dedicated 4+ months to my life to training during the cold New England winter, stretching, yoga-ing, eating well, hydrating, and not drinking much booze.. and it all paid off! I finished the Eugene marathon in 3:29:39 .. which means beating my previous best time by 20 minutes, qualifying to run the Boston Marathon (this was my first time trying for it! The qualifying time for a woman my age is 3:35:00), and running faster than I ever thought I could. Race day was pretty darn perfect, and I couldn't have imagined a better outcome. Hard work really does pay off, and I truly can't wait to start training for Boston 2014.

you are so inspiring! did you run into any issues with injuries while you trained? i trained for my first half last October, and then after I finished I had terrible IT band problems! :(

way to go!!! running races is the most empowering feeling! not unlike building ikea furniture!
