I figured it was about time I blog about Toyota Land Cruisers because there is really no other material item in this world I love as much as an FJ60 or FJ62. It all started when I was a little kid and my parents bought a new shiny FJ62 in 1989. Ours was off white with fake wood paneling on the side .. a rare version I've come to learn.. and it was love at first sight (even though I was only 5 at the time) . I learned to drive on that truck and when I turned 16 it became my first car. I got a handful of good years in before the odometer broke 320,000 and it just didn't want to run anymore.
My obsession with this truck just became that much greater after we sold ours about 10 years ago. I pretty much have a small heart attack every time I see one drive by (which isn't really that often .. unless I'm on vacation in California) and for years I've been daydreaming about the day when I finally purchase another one.
Well, the hunt is now officially on. I finally feel good & settled here in New England and am ready to increase my quality of life by about 1000x by making an FJ62 my daily driver. It might take a bit to hunt down the perfect one, but I'm determined to find it!

I hope you find you car! It's funny, getting attached to what a car should 'be' like. I love and miss this Saab 96, from 1969

I had an old Willys wagon when I was in my 20s

now I drive a Toyota echo- same engine as the Prius. Conservatism won out.
