SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

A trip home to NH is never complete without stocking up on some of my favorite things. Finding good quality, locally raised meat & dairy in this city is harder than one would think. So that means I go a little overboard when I'm home in NH and can get my hands on really, really good stuff. I have an especially hard time when I'm driving and see a little farm selling their backyard duck & chicken eggs in a roadside stand (currently have 4 dozen in our fridge) or when I'm at the natural food store where they sell NH raised venison and bison (as well as pork and chicken and lamb and beef and turkey).

Although my favorite by far is raw milk. It's hard to get your hands on around here unless you go directly to the farm.. so needless to say when I saw that raw milk up there in a NH store I nearly fell over with excitement. So happy to have a constant source of it now. Plus that means one more reason to take many trips home this summer.

MARKET DAYS

And so begins my 4th season working for a really incredible organic farm. Can't even begin to express how nice it is to have fresh vegetables back in my life. Being involved with farming for the past 7 or 8 years has spoiled me to no end - during the winter I hardly eat anything vegetable-related other than storage crops and the occasional green from the winter farmers market in Providence. But from now until Thanksgiving it's nothing but the most delicious fresh vegetables for every meal.

Also - those strawberries are the best fruit you will ever taste. No joke. And I swear I'm not just saying that because I have to.

FRIDAY MAY 14

Just listed these two canvas carryalls in my Etsy shop. Available HERE and HERE.

Been working with a lot of old grain/feed/seed bags lately. Love the weathered printing on the white canvas paired with a striped liner and leather details. Also coming up with new bag styles for this material -- lots and lots of new things will be available at Renegade.

RADIO INTERVIEW

A few weeks back I did an interview on Breakthru Radio for the show Sew & Tell. You can listen to it HERE if you' like.

THESE DAYS..

Spent a few days in NYC by myself. Saw good friends. Acquired a few more tattoos from Liam.

Been gathering lots of good materials to work with. Have a nice stock pile of canvas and leather and various kinds of hardware taking up the majority of space in my studio.

Just a heads up - things will be pretty sparse in my Etsy shop over the next few weeks as I put almost every bag aside for Renegade Brooklyn.

Getting anxious for warmer days -- camping, exploring in the woods, swimming holes.

FINDS FROM THIS WEEKEND

On the way back to the car yesterday at the flea market something in the back of a vendor's truck caught my eye. A closer look revealed an old canvas/leather LL Bean duffel. He agreed to sell it to me after emptying all the fishing gear and old bottles out. I could hardly contain the excitement - I seriously daydream about moments like this.. actually coming across something you've been hoping to find for years at a fraction of what you would be willing to pay for it.

It's in almost perfect condition - just needs a clean and a few stitches reinforced. It came without a shoulder strap but I can sew one together pretty quick. So excited to put this thing to good use.
